Questions people ask

How is the NEET-UG score calculated?

Each correct answer earns 4 marks and each wrong answer loses 1 mark. Unattempted questions score 0. Your score is 4 × correct − 1 × wrong, out of 720.

How many questions are in each subject?

From 2025 the paper has 180 compulsory questions: 45 each in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. There is no optional section any more.

Should I leave a question blank or guess?

A wrong answer costs 1 mark and a right one gains 4, so a guess between two options is worth it on average, while a blind guess among four is close to break-even. Leaving a question you have no idea about blank is safe.

Is this my official score?

No. It is a calculation from the numbers you enter. Your official score comes from NTA after the final answer key.
